A day at the zoo

We have a super zoo in Tacoma in Point Defiance Park. We were there last weekend, so here's a couple of phots...

Two from last weekend, and one taken shortly after we arrived in the US. Nearly the end of the Summer hols now. I am looking forward to the start of the school year (!). We have had a lot of fun though, this summer, with everyone getting a large dose of sun and sports.

Wins!!

I've had my first solo bike race wins of the season, after being a member of the Old Town Bicycle team that one the cat 4/5 Washington State Team Time Trial (by a huge 1 second margin).

I won the Sport 35-44 categoy in Greenwater Wa at the White Water Revival mountain bike race in the Indie Mountain Bike Series. This was only my second big mountain bike race of the season, so I was pretty pleased to beat all the race series leaders. It was a tough course with lots of climb and a twisty, steep, long descent. A real mtb course!!

The other race was a mid week cat 4/5 road race at Pacific Raceways, a race car track near Auburn. Its a fairly short race, but there was good size field and I won the pack sprint fairly covincingly. I hope I can take this form into the cyclocross season!!
